Islamic law emphasizes the preservation of honor and requires Muslims to guard their tongues and limbs from slander, insults, and defamation, whether expressed verbally or through insinuations (False Accusation of Unchastity by Written Words), gestures, or other means. This research aims to clarify the Islamic legal ruling on someone who defames (False Accusation of Unchastity) a Muslim via a written text message sent through common methods such as email, mobile phone messages, or popular applications. It presents the legal ruling with its supporting evidence and cites relevant scholarly opinions. The research also examines methods of proof in cases involving legal punishments (hudud) using contemporary circumstantial evidence, and its relationship to the principle of averting punishment in cases of doubt. The research concludes that anyone who sends written defamatory statements is subject to punishment, as these statements are considered explicit defamation when proven beyond a reasonable doubt, either through the perpetrator's confession or through compelling evidence that leads the judge to believe the act occurred. If the written statement is metaphorical, it is treated as metaphorical defamation. The researcher employed a scientific methodology in jurisprudential studies, compiling and analyzing relevant sources to arrive at the soundest opinion.
