Abstract: The present research examines the dialectal material collected from ten subjects? from Mălaia village, Vâlcea County, in order to highlight the phonetic and lexical peculiarities of this region. Mălaia is one of eight localities surveyed as part of an extensive dialectal description of the Țara Lovistei region. The linguistic material was gathered through discussions with locals on various topics such as traditions, local gastronomy, childhood memories, and daily activities, as well as through responses to a questionnaire. Our approach focuses on the analysis of dialectal features, with a view to contributing to the description of the local language variety, which belongs to the subdialect of the Munteina region.
