D1.2 - Basic engineering report of the MeOH modular plant

Abstract: The BeBOP pilot plant will be built and operated at VTT in Finland. The plant integrates several key process units, including a gasification unit, syngas purification, syngas conditioning using a Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) unit, a compression unit, and a methanol synthesis unit. ICODOS is responsible for the design and construction of the methanol synthesis unit, which will feature an innovative 3D-printed reactor. This report presents the design of the methanol synthesis unit and the associated 3D-printed reactor. It includes all relevant engineering documentation, such as the Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), HAZOP study results, a CAD sketch of the reactor, and the corresponding mass balances.
