Automation of IT Support Tasks Using Python and PowerShell

Abstract: Modern IT support environments require efficient solutions to manage repetitive and time-consuming tasks. This study explores the use of Python and PowerShell for automating common IT support activities, including system monitoring, user account management, software deployment, and log analysis. The research examines the strengths of both scripting languages and their effectiveness in improving operational efficiency and reducing manual intervention. Findings indicate that automation enhances productivity, minimizes human errors, and accelerates issue resolution. While PowerShell provides strong integration with Windows administration, Python offers flexibility and cross-platform capabilities. The study concludes that combining Python and PowerShell can significantly improve IT support operations and contribute to more reliable and scalable IT service management.
