Results of California Channel Islands pinniped aerial survey, July 2022

Abstract: The U.S. Navy Base Ventura County (USNBV) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) partnered to complete an aerial pinniped survey of the California Channel Islands from 6 to 12 July 2022. The abundance of pinnipeds on the islands is needed by the two agencies to meet requirements under the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
