Abstract: Lay Summary Mental health problems vary widely across cultures, yet evolutionary psychiatry has rarely studied non-industrialized societies. This special issue includes four papers—on cross-cultural measurement, mourning rituals in Kenya, perinatal mental health, and post-traumatic stress disorder among Turkana warriors—that begin to fill that gap.
