Cultural Heritage Desk Based Assessment at Land at Hymers College,HU3 1LW
Year: 2026
Type: report
Abstract: A Cultural Heritage Desk-Based Assessment was undertaken by Arthian Ltd on behalf of Portakabin Ltd which examined relevant available sources, and in combination with a Site walkover attempted to assess possible effects on the known and unknown Heritage Assets and, where applicable their settings. Having considered both the impact of the proposed buildings on the surrounding heritage assets, and their setting; the significance of impact is assessed as slight. Considerations should be given to the mitigation of the intervisibility by landscaping and positioning away from the key sightline, to ensure that the development even though temporary does not erode the historic environment of Hymers College and associated grounds.
