Land of Louth Road, Ludford, Lincolnshire, Phase II. Archaeological Monitoring and Recording
Year: 2026
Type: report
Abstract: A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken on Land off Louth Road, Ludford, Lincolnshire. The project, commissioned by the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council involved the monitoring groundworks associated with the replacement of a culverted section of the River Bain as part of the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project. The monitoring followed Phase I of the project which replaced a culverted section of the river with an open channel in an area to the southeast of the monitoring described in this report. The monitoring and recording revealed no archaeological features. Although the site lies in an area of known archaeology, no features of archaeological origin were revealed during the groundworks.
