Watching Brief at Archaeological monitoring and recording at 'Homelea', Sluice Road, South Ferriby, North Lincolnshire
Year: 2026
Type: report
Abstract: In December 2024 a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by Humber Field Archaeology in advance of the erection of a dwelling to the south of 'Homelea', Sluice Road, South Ferriby, North Lincolnshire. While the site is known to have Roman remains within its general vicinity, most notably a settlement and pottery industry to the south, no archaeological evidence of these or any associated features were present within the limits of this particular development. During the programme of archaeological monitoring and recording on the development site, only a single natural deposit of clay (102) was identified beneath the subsoil (101) that covered the entire site.
