Abstract: This project hosts the manuscript *The Power and Burden of Introspective Reflection: A Developmental Theory of Adaptive Regulation* and related versioned materials. The paper proposes Adaptive Regulation as a conceptual and developmental framework for understanding how reflectively integrated conscious systems maintain, lose, and recover psychological stability through emotional signal interpretation, participation, agency, reflection, identity stability, developmental integration, and environmental reinforcement. The framework is offered as an interpretive synthesis rather than a clinical or diagnostic model.
