Abstract: This paper develops the concept of Immediate Post-Convergence Recursive Re-Evaluation within the Cognitive Branch of the PATON System. The framework arose from a real-time observation in which successful completion, saving, and externalisation of a structural note were followed almost immediately by renewed evaluation of the note’s significance, value, admissibility, future relevance, and continuity importance. The paper proposes that construction and post-convergence evaluation may operate as distinguishable cognitive modes. During active construction, attention is weighted toward preserving and completing the developing structure. Once convergence is reached and the material is externalised, that weighting may rapidly redistribute toward evaluation. This transition is defined as Post-Convergence Evaluative Rebound. The rebound may support correction, scope review, and responsible quality control. It may also produce premature devaluation, unnecessary reopening, reassurance-seeking, withdrawal, or deletion before stable evaluation conditions exist. The paper distinguishes useful evaluation from global devaluation, stabilisation feedback from validation, and subjective processing density from objectively measured cognitive activity. It proposes preservation, temporal distance, boundary clarity, and specific evidence-based questioning as safeguards during the vulnerable post-convergence interval. The framework is observational, structural, non-clinical, and non-mystical.
