The Moderating Role of Marital Status in the Effect of Psychological Ownership on Organizational Identification Mediated by Presenteeism
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study investigates whether marital status shapes the association between psychological ownership and organizational identification, considering presenteeism as an intervening mechanism. A survey was conducted with 386 employees working in various health institutions in Konya. The instruments were validated through exploration factor analysis and reliability analyses. Hypotheses were tested using Hayes' PROCESS Macro framework. Findings revealed that psychological ownership significantly contributes to organizational identification. The results further indicate a conditional indirect effect through presenteeism. In addition, marital status was found to significantly moderate this indirect effect, indicating a moderated mediation relationship.
