Year: 2026
Type: erratum
Abstract: Clerodendrum serratum linn, a member of the Verbenaceae family, is a naturally occurring plant distributed across tropical and subtropical areas globally. In certain areas of India, it goes by the name Bharangi. Traditional Ayurvedic medicine employs it for the treatment of several ailments, including breathing difficulties (shwasa), coughing (kasa), injuries (vrana), inflammation (shotha), and various neurological conditions (vataja disorders). Diverse components of Clerodendrum serratum, including leaves, stems, roots, seeds, and flowers, encompass a variety of phytochemicals like carbohydrates, phenolics, flavonoids, terpenoids, steroids, and saponins; they exhibit a range of pharmacological effects such as anti-asthmatic, anti-allergic, anti-cancer, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, liver-protective, and immune-modulating properties. The primary goal of this study is to assess the antipsychotic effects of Clerodendrum serratum leaf extracts on rats experiencing Apomorphine-Induced Psychosis.
