Co-Offending Networks of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs: The Relationship Between Rank and Participation in Co-Offending
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Approaches to the study of OMCGs tend to focus on offending at the individual level, with limited focus on the nature and extent of co-offending among these affiliates. This project examines the positioning of OMCG affiliates in co-offending network structures by examining changes in actor advancements in organizational ranks over time . The de-identified data includes crime/arrest incident data for affiliates of OMCGs , including their rank and club affiliation. We deploy Relational Hyperevent Models to examine the relationship between co-offending and OMCG hierarchical rank over a ten-year period for the aggregate network and for networks of specific crime types .
