Construction and Application of a Web-Based Multimodal Resource Repository for Practical Thai Language Teaching

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Practical Thai language teaching suffers from fragmented resources and weak alignment with real-world scenarios; therefore, this study developed a web-based scenario-aware multimodal repository for blended learning. The system integrated text, audio, and video resources through a vocabulary–pragmatics–culture metadata schema, embedded a scenario-aware dynamic recommendation model for personalized delivery, and adopted a dual-loop mechanism to align technical optimization (real-time retrieval, high-concurrency stability) with pedagogical needs. A 4-week quasi-experiment with 86 undergraduates showed that the experimental group achieved a 14.1% higher gain in spoken fluency and a 22.3% reduction in task time, while 78.6% of teachers reported reduced preparation effort and 81.4% of students perceived enhanced cultural awareness. Open access to the core metadata framework and algorithm details supported reproducibility and provided actionable insights for web-based resources for less-commonly-taught languages.
