Abstract: The article deals with the communicative orientation of the teaching process. The communicative orientation of the teaching process is the main trend of methodology. The author provides detailed information on the methodological principles of the communicative orientation of the teaching process and explores the factors that determine the essence of these principles. The factors determining the essence of methodological principles arc: the objectives of foreign language teaching, speech activity - speech act, interaction of the learned language with pupils mother tongue. The author also emphasizes the importance of the initial stage of the teaching process and emphasizes that the development and strengthening of initial skills at this stage is of great importance. At this stage, the initial skills must be developed and consolidated, the so-called basic competence formed in different types of speech activity Concentration of teaching material allows students to use Russian expressions from the early stages of teaching.
