Abstract: The article discusses the personal characteristics of an internet fraudster that contribute to the commission of crimes in the electronic environment. It presents an analysis of the socio-demographic and criminal-legal properties of the criminal's personality. The article identifies the socio-psychological properties and traits of the criminal's personality. It also analyzes the statistical data provided by government agencies in recent years related to crimes committed in the electronic environment. The article examines the use of artificial intelligence in criminal schemes. It analyzes the characteristics of victims of fraud. The article presents a list of effective preventive measures in the field of internet fraud.
