The Crisis of Supersymmetry and the LHC Null Results
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: The quest for a "Theory of Everything" has long been the North Star of theoretical physics. For decades, Supersymmetry (SUSY) stood as the most elegant, mathematically robust candidate to extend the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. It promised to solve the hierarchy problem, explain dark matter, and facilitate the unification of fundamental forces. Yet, as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN reaches higher energy frontiers, the silence is deafening. The anticipated "super partners"—the bosonic partners of fermions and the fermionic partners of bosons—remain elusive. This article explores the rise, the current crisis, and the uncertain future of Supersymmetry in the post-LHC era.
