Public Misconceptions About Vaping During Pregnancy and Adolescence: A Public Health Perspective
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This discussion paper examines persistent public misconceptions about vaping during pregnancy and adolescence. Although vaping is generally considered less harmful than combustible tobacco smoking, it is often mistakenly perceived as harmless, particularly during pregnancy and among young people. The paper discusses the importance of evidence based public health communication and culturally responsive educational strategies to improve awareness among parents, healthcare professionals, schools, and communities. It reflects the author's research interests in maternal mental health, early child development, and reducing health inequalities affecting migrant and bilingual families.
