レム睡眠の心理学的機能とその発現過程の理解

Abstract: This study investigated the phenomenon of emotional processing during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. We found that rapid eye movements during REM sleep increased following an emotion-related decision-making task, and that the magnitude of this increase was associated with improved task performance after awakening. Additionally, when an olfactory stimulus was presented during an emotional image memory task before sleep and re-presented during REM sleep, neural responses to previously learned aversive stimuli were enhanced after awakening. In contrast, no such effect was observed for novel aversive stimuli presented for the first time after sleep or for pleasant stimuli. These findings suggest that REM sleep may be involved in the processing of emotion-related decision-making and the preferential consolidation of aversive emotional experiences.
