Smart biomaterials: From responsiveness to closed-loop sensing and feedback
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Biomaterials are evolving from passive scaffolds to responsive platforms, yet most lack true feedback regulation. A shift toward adaptive biomaterial systems that integrate sensing, computational processing, and dynamic actuation directly within a macromolecular network could transform these multifunctional biomaterials into precision platforms capable of regulating biological processes in real time.
