(2, m)-threshold quantum data hiding

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Quantum data hiding aims to encode classical information into quantum states so that it can be recovered through suitable joint measurements while remaining inaccessible under local operations and classical communication (LOCC). Motivated by the question of whether quantum data hiding can be extended to a multiparty setting in which any pair of parties can recover the hidden information while it remains nearly inaccessible under LOCC, we investigate multiparty quantum state discrimination and propose a multiparty quantum data-hiding scheme for one classical bit shared among multiple parties. In the proposed scheme, any pair of parties can perfectly recover the hidden bit through a joint measurement, whereas LOCC measurements performed even by all parties can reveal only an arbitrarily small amount of information. We further derive bounds on the optimal LOCC discrimination of multiparty quantum states. The proposed scheme can be implemented using only separable states of low-dimensional quantum systems, thereby enhancing its practical feasibility.
