Revealing aging processes of nanodroplet emulsions with hyperpolarized Xe in different exchange regimes
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Hyperpolarized xenon-129 (hp Xe) in combination with chemical exchange saturation transfer (HyperCEST) reveals even minor spin pools that typically escape conventional NMR detection due to pool size and/or relatively fast exchange. This study of variable Xe exchange in emulsions of nanodroplets with decreasing size shows that HyperCEST can monitor the aging process through different stages that involve exchange rates even outside the typical NMR timescale for compartmentalized systems.
