Impact of acute mild and severe poikilocapnic hypoxia on dynamic cerebral autoregulation and its directional sensitivity in young healthy volunteers
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Using a multimetric approach combining transfer function analysis with directional sensitivity metrics, we demonstrate that severe, but not mild, poikilocapnic hypoxia impairs dynamic cerebral autoregulation, whereas preserving its directional sensitivity across oxygen levels. These findings suggest that distinct mechanisms govern the dynamic and directional components of dynamic cerebral autoregulation.
