The Hidden Customer Signals Shaping the Future of AI Software
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Customer Pulse is a customer intelligence publication designed to identify emerging market signals before they become mainstream trends. This first research brief (Series 01, CP-RB-2026-01, v1.1) examines 342 public conversations from Reddit communities discussing ChatGPT and AI software adoption (Jan-Jun 2026) using the Customer Pulse Research Methodology (CPRM). The objective is not to measure customer satisfaction. The objective is to answer a more strategic question: What are customers beginning to expect that businesses need to prepare for today? Key findings: (1) Reliability is emerging as a primary purchase criterion over model intelligence (2) Customers demand workflow integration over standalone features (3) Customers are shifting from end-users to co-creators The brief includes an executive dashboard, methodology and limitations, three evidence-backed findings with customer verbatims, cross-signal synthesis with opportunity index (9.6, 9.3, 9.1), and a product playbook for AI companies, startups, enterprise buyers, and investors.
