Abstract: This article addresses the meanings of life in Nietzsche's thought by means of a selection of Scarlett Marton’s works. In many ways, Nietzsche seems to have always understood life as a creative and expansive force. Based on the doctrine of the will to power and Dionysian philosophy, Nietzsche comes to un- derstand life as a continuous process of self-overcoming, in which creation and destruction alternate. Other aspects are still discussed: the opposition between knowledge and life; life as a criterion for the value of values; and the metaphor of the dance.
