US Adults’ Perspectives on Antibiotic Durations and Adherence to Therapy for Common Bacterial Respiratory Infections: A National Survey
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: We surveyed 1475 US adults (March-April 2024) about antibiotic therapy durations and adherence. Most reported preferring longer antibiotic courses (≥7 days) and believed always finishing an antibiotic course is important. These findings highlight the need for effective strategies to align public beliefs with current recommendations supporting short duration therapy.
