Hydrogen-Rich Water Effects in Metabolic Syndrome Stratified by Breath Hydrogen
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study designs: Randomized Controlled Trial, Clinical Trial
Abstract: Objectives: Metabolic syndrome increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Hydrogen-rich water (HRW) may improve metabolic function, though responses may vary with endogenous hydrogen production. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial examined the effects of 12-week HRW supplementation on body composition and metabolic biomarkers in adults with metabolic syndrome, stratified by baseline breath hydrogen levels.
