Association Between Healthy Eating Index Adequacy Components and Domains of Cognitive Function in Midlife Latino Adults at Risk for Alzheimer’s Disease
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Objectives: A nutrient-dense diet has a protective effect against cognitive decline caused by oxidative stress and chronic neuroinflammation, which increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Still, studies are limited on nutrient-dense food groups and cognitive function in the Latino population. This study examines the association between the Healthy Eating Index-2020 (HEI-2020) adequacy components and cognitive function in midlife Latino individuals at risk for AD.
