Choline Supplementation Reduces Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) Severity in Offspring Exposed to Maternal Obesity

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Objectives: Maternal obesity and diabetes increase the risk for developing metabolic diseases in the offspring. Choline supplementation (CS) during maternal obesity has been shown to reduce excess adiposity and liver fat accumulation in the fetus. The study aimed to investigate whether CS in the prenatal and/or postnatal periods protected against Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) pathogenesis induced by maternal obesity and a postnatal Western diet (WD) feeding.
