A Randomized Dietary Trial in Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma: The NUTRIVENTION-5 Protocol
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Study Protocol
Abstract: Objectives: Despite patient interest, the effects of a dietary intervention for patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) outcomes is unknown. Building on our NUTRIVENTION trial (PMID: 413427390) that showed that a high-fiber plant-based (HFPBD) intervention improved quality of life (QOL), metabolic, microbiome and immune biomarkers, with delay in progression to NDMM in a subset, we hypothesize that patients with NDMM treated with standard quadruplet induction therapy who receive an HFPBD will have improved treatment response and QOL.
