After Metamodernism: MetaRenaissance as Productive Recursion in the Age of Algorithmic Culture
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This preprint proposes MetaRenaissance as a conceptual framework for understanding cultural production in the age of generative artificial intelligence. Drawing on Hofstadter's strange loops, Bateson's deutero-learning, and Floridi's re-ontologisation, the framework positions productive recursion and palimpsestic re-inscription as complements to metamodernism's oscillation model. Large language models serve as the primary analytical case. The concept was developed by Abdülkadir Turhan (2026).
