Training landscape and gap analysis for research data professionals in the Netherlands

Abstract: Research Data Netherlands (RDNL) is developing a national training programme for research data professionals which uses a national competency framework (CF) as its basis. This document presents a selection of the current training offering by both RDNL and other training providers in relation to the competency areas in the CF to identify relevant trainings for the training programme and pinpoint gaps to guide new or adapted training development. The mapping template and full results are published as a supplement to this document: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21451881 The initiative to build a national training and community platform for research data professionals is funded by Open Science NL for the period 2025-2028.
