Technological correction is measured in years; cognitive correction is measured in generations—and the time gap between them is the storage period of disaster. Using the allegory of the farmer and the chicken, the paper shows that flat linear civilization can only see laws within the plane, not the third-dimensional objective law above it. Direction Design is the "awakened chicken"—it inserts pre-emptive planning and future expectation between subject and object, upgrading civilization from post-disaster critique (Marx) to pre-disaster deployment. The paper further identifies three contemporary amplifying factors—8 billion population, global supply-chain coupling, and shared physical systems—that escalate the disaster vehicle from regional or intercontinental to the compound catastrophe of "war + thermal collapse." With the equatorial thermal barrier projected to close by 2045, the window for cognitive renewal is less than 20 years.
