Genitourinary Infection Following Oral Sex Linked to Group A Streptococcus in a Young Adult Male
Year: 2026
Type: conference-abstract
Abstract: Streptococcus pyogenes (‘Group A strep’ or GAS), most commonly known as the causative agent for streptococcal pharyngitis or “strep throat,” is often transmitted through respiratory droplets or contact with contaminated surfaces. A much less documented and known specific mode of transmission, however, is via oro-genital exposure.
