Abstract: The interaction in the Sb2Se3-Tb2Se3 system was studied, and a phase diagram for the system was constructed using differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, microstructural analysis, and microhardness measurements. It was established that the Sb2Se3-Tb2Se3 system is quasi-binary. As a result of the peritectic reaction in the system, two compounds are formed: Tb8Sb2Se15 and TbSbSe3. The electrical properties of TbSbSe3 were studied. It was established that this compound is an n-type semiconductor with a band gap of ~0.21 eV. It was found that a ternary compound containing TbSbSe3 forms in the Sb2Se3-Tb2Se3 system. TbSbSe3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic stibnite-type syngony. a = 12.35, b = 12.76, c = 4.86 Å.
