Abstract: This article analyzes the influence, creative activity, and business spirit of the German population residing in Puerto de la Cruz during the 20th century, highlighting the importance of the city as a tourist and commercial center on the island of Tenerife. It also highlights the importance of certain families in this regard (Wildprett, Reimers, Ahlers, Müller, and Münzenmaier, among others), as well as the creative work of some artists who settled in the town before World War II (in particular, the painter Gustav Guld). Furthermore, it offers a study of the career and some of the works of the watercolorist Vicente Müller, heir to the remarkable heritage provided by his Spanish-German roots.
