Abstract: Phase formation in the ternary Pr-Bi-Te system was studied using physicochemical analysis methods. T-x diagrams of the internal sections of the system were constructed: Bi2Te3-Pr3Te4, PrTe-Bi, PrTe-PrBi, Pr–Bi₂Te₃. A new ternary compound of the composition PrBiTe3 and a solid solution region of ~3-5 mol.% at 300 K were discovered in the system. It was established that the sections Bi2Te3-Pr3Te4, PrTe-Bi, PrTe-PrBi are quasi-binary, while Bi2Te3-Pr are non-quasi-binary. The phase diagrams of the Bi2Te3-Pr3Te4, Bi-PrTe and PrTe-PrBi sections belong to the simple eutectic type with eutectic coordinates of 80 mol.% Bi2Te3 and 600 K; 94 mol.% Bi and 515 K; 45 mol.% PrBi and 1300 K, respectively. In the Bi2Te3-Pr3Te4 system based on Bi2Te3, a solubility range of up to 5 mol.% Pr3Te4 at 300 K was found.
