Global Spread of Trichophyton indotineae Tracked by Mass Spectrometry Identification Network, 2022–2025

Abstract: Trichophyton indotineae is an emerging dermatophyte that is often resistant to terbinafine. We analyzed data produced by the Mass Spectrometry Identification global network. Those data revealed a 3-fold increase in T. indotineae identification during 2022-2025, demonstrating that this application is an effective tool for monitoring global spread of this pathogen.
