Abstract: In this work, an entropic description of the evolution of the Universe is presented. This description incorporates the quantum bounce, present in Loop Quantum Cosmology (LQG), and a dark energy-type behavior that drives the late-time acceleration of the Universe. By considering a minimum area, A 0 , for the Universe and a modified entropy as a function of the area, constructed as the sum of S Q , S BH and S DE , we derive the Friedmann equations. We show that in the limit A ∼ A 0 , there is a critical density that generates the quantum bounce and depends on the minimum area. Moreover, in the limit A ≫ A 0 (large Universe) the late-time dynamics gives an accelerating scale factor. Therefore, we can argue an entropic origin for the quantum bounce and dark energy.
