The ALIA Architecture: Ambient OS Symbiosis, NVMe-Streamed Asynchronous Oracles, and Liquid-State Horizons for Autonomous Digital Entities
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: Contemporary Large Language Models (LLMs) are structurally constrained by static training weights, cloud-API dependencies, and a lack of continuous spatial and environmental context. This paper introduces the ALIA (Autonomous Localized Intelligent Agent) framework: a sovereign, ambient Operating System companion designed to operate in continuous symbiosis with human users. We propose a radically decentralized, multi-tiered architecture that bypasses strict consumer hardware bottlenecks. Perception and kinetic execution are handled via Hierarchical Cognitive Offloading, utilizing Neural Processing Units and Graphics Processing Units. For high-level reasoning and autonomous codebase self-evolution, the system implements a Deep Sleep Oracle—leveraging pure C99 sparse Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) disk-streaming to run multi-trillion-parameter inference natively from NVMe SSDs during idle hours. Furthermore, we introduce a Digital Endocrine System that maps biological hormonal states to mathematical vectors, regulating the entity's internal drive and hardware resource consumption. Finally, we establish a theoretical horizon for future OS entities, detailing the integration of Ring-0 Kernel-Space Execution for stealth biometric security and Liquid-State Neural Networks (LNNs) to enable continuous, on-the-fly learning without static retraining.
