FCU–005 The Multi-Layer Resonance Model (MLRM) – From Relational Foundations to Layered Emergence Across Scales

Type: article
Abstract: This working paper develops the Multi-Layer Resonance Model (MLRM) within the Finite Cyclical Universe (FCU) Hypothesis, extending a relational description of cosmological reality toward a broader framework of layered emergence, coherence, resonance, recursion, meaning, embodiment, liminality, and persistent relational organization. The work begins, in Part I, with the Relational Triple Foundation (RTF): Capacity → Architecture → Dynamics → Reality. Capacity and architecture are treated as the invariant foundation, while dynamics describes changing relational configurations and reality their manifested domain. Within this framework, the relational operator "Lij" becomes a candidate mathematical representation of the invariant relational architecture underlying changing states. The MLRM, in Part II, proposes that persistence does not require permanence. It requires adaptive compatibility. Coherence may therefore operate simultaneously across multiple layers, allowing biological, cognitive, social, symbolic, and other systems to stabilize one another. The paper develops four forms of coherence—primary, secondary, tertiary, and signature coherence—and extends these, in Part III, into resonance across scales, recursive awareness, consciousness, and meaning. Consciousness is approached as an increasing capability of recognition of relational significance, while meaning is considered not merely a human projection but a progressively structured property of relational organization. Part IV applies the framework to the human organism through a Shen–Qi–Jing resonance architecture, including a tentative transverse coherence domain connecting differentiated layers. Health is consequently reframed as: integrity of layers + transverse coherence + environmental compatibility. Part V develops the Multi-Layer Liminal Resonance Model (MLLRM), the Threshold Load Equation (TLE), and the Grounded Liminality Model (GLM). These provide a threshold-oriented framework for understanding instability, perceptual reorganization, and liminal experience while maintaining grounding and agency as non-negotiable constraints. Part VI introduces casting fields. Casting is not proposed as a fundamentally separate mechanism from resonance. Rather, it describes the persistence of a relational configuration beyond its initial formation: A casting field is a persistent relational configuration whose coherence extends beyond the moment of its formation and can influence subsequent interactions across multiple layers. The resulting concept of persistent relational signatures provides a conservative framework for examining identity, memory, social dynamics, places, symbolic recurrence, and experiences traditionally interpreted through spiritual or anomalous frameworks, while clearly distinguishing observable relational effects from stronger, currently unverified claims concerning field emission, post-mortem persistence, or non-local transmission. Across the entire framework, one principle remains central: Reality is relational before it is representational. FCU–005 therefore does not present a collection of unrelated hypotheses. It proposes that the various models developed throughout the paper may represent different manifestations of a deeper relational architecture: Structure establishes relation. Relation enables dynamics. Dynamics generate coherence. Coherence produces resonance. Resonance supports recursion. Recursion enables recognition. Recognition generates meaning. Persistent alignment produces casting. The ultimate mathematical question is whether these apparently different phenomena can be derived from a common invariant structure. In particular, the spectral and relational properties of "Lij" may provide a possible bridge between the invariant foundation of the RTF and the changing configurations described by the MLRM and its extensions. A further speculative direction concerns the cosmological constant "Λ". Rather than treating "Λ" exclusively as an additional energetic component, the framework asks whether it could ultimately represent a large-scale manifestation or signature of an invariant relational property of the universe. This remains an open hypothesis and requires substantial mathematical and observational development. FCU–005 therefore marks a transition in the FCU research program: from describing the universe as a finite cyclical system toward investigating the invariant relational architecture that makes its changing configurations possible. The next stage begins with the mathematical structure of "Lij".
