Abstract: Global demand for electricity is rising, but fossil fuels are limited and environmentally harmful. By lowering emissions and dependence on fossil fuels, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems provide a clean solution. This paper presents a design and performance analysis of a 6.55 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant using PVsyst 7.4, with the Sirajganj region of Bangladesh considered as the case study. The proposed plant employs 19,200 Jinko JKM-345M modules and three SMA Sunny Central 2200 inverters and is expected to deliver about 9018.3 MWh of electricity annually with a performance ratio (PR) of 82.8%. The study is directed to an integrated evaluation of the major parameters that affect the design of solar PV systems such as electrical arrangements, panel size, choice of inverters, solar radiation, weather conditions, and weather prediction. A more detailed plant layout is offered, responding to local conditions of the site and grid integration practical issues. The analysis of the economics shows that the project has financial viability with a levelised cost of energy (LCOE) of about 0.043 US dollar and a simple payback period of approximately 10.1 years. Life-cycle assessment shows substantial carbon benefits, with net avoided emissions on the order of 83,100.96 tCO₂ over the project lifetime, and The proposed agrivoltaic layout improves land-use utilization and soil fertility, contributing to an estimated 92 tons of annual vegetable production. The results demonstrate a practical framework that utility-scale agrovoltaic PV can be a technically robust and economically attractive solution for expanding renewable generation in the world.
