Galaxy Formation from a Level-0 GPLA Field

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This conceptual paper presents galaxy formation within the Scalar Drag Emergence Framework (SDEF) as the emergence of coherent galactic organization from a high-gradient Level-0 GPLA field. The protogalactic state is not treated as a pre-existing galaxy or prescribed morphology. Instead, ensemble-level reconfiguration can establish persistent transport pathways and corridors, from which coherence, ancestry, and attractor organization emerge. These attractors can organize hierarchically into nested basins and transport domains within a larger coherent galactic entity. The framework interprets galactic morphology as a downstream expression of transport architecture. Asymmetric gradients can produce directional transport and emergent rotational organization. Spiral structures are interpreted as gradient-conduction and stellar-formation corridors, while bars provide rotational coupling between regions with different rotational regimes and concentrated pathways toward the central attractor. The framework is extended beyond individual galaxies to filamentary transport structures and associated depleted regions or voids. Galactic evolution is treated as continued gradient redistribution, allowing local quiescence, rejuvenation, retained transport ancestry, and morphological reconfiguration without requiring loss of higher-level galactic coherence. Galactic mergers are interpreted as joint reconfiguration of coupled coherent ensembles rather than as an automatic consequence of proximity. The paper is conceptual and does not present a complete quantitative derivation or model of galaxy formation. It establishes an organizational architecture and identifies consequences requiring subsequent mathematical formalization, simulation, and observational testing.
