Research Progress on Manual Therapy for Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy Based on the Theory of “Tendon-Bone Balance with Tendon Priority”

Type: article
Abstract: Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR) is a prevalent and frequently encountered condition in clinical practice, with the highest prevalence among the six subtypes of cervical spondylosis.Drawing on recent academic research, recent studies have identified "tendon-bone imbalance" (characterized by bone misalignment and tendon displacement) as the fundamental pathogenesis of CSR.Manual therapy based on the principle of "tendon-bone balance with tendon priority" serves as the core approach to restoring this balance and addressing CSR at its root. This review systematically examines the theoretical framework of "tendon-bone balance with tendon priority", summarizes current research on the mechanisms underlying manual therapy for CSR, and provides a detailed overview of major domestic and international manual therapy schools and their clinical evidence.Furthermore, it analyzes existing challenges in current manual therapy protocols and offers insights for future research directions.
