Scale Invariance Breaking and Algorithmic Compressibility in the CMB: Evidence for a Finite Computational Substrate
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: The standard λCDM model of cosmology assumes that the primordial fluctuations of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) arise from continuous, ontologically random quantum fluctuations during inflation, predicting a nearly scale-invariant power spectrum. However, persistent anomalies, most notably the large-scale power deficit at low multipoles (< 30), remain unexplained. This paper proposes that these anomalies are not statistical flukes, but the natural macroscopic signatures of a discrete, finite computational substrate. Using a Modulo-9 cellular automaton framework, we demonstrate that quantizing a continuous scale-invariant field into a finite alphabet naturally suppresses large-scale power (the "Hardware Ceiling" effect). We validate this model against real Planck 2018 SMICA data and provide a definitive "kill shot" via LZMA algorithmic compressibility tests, proving that the CMB possesses hidden algorithmic structure inconsistent with true ontological randomness.
