Abstract: This article examines the specific principles and rules of constructing a still life composition, its place in the fine arts, and its significance in forming students' artistic skills. Such essential aspects of the process of creating a still life as composition, light and shade, color harmony, and the proportions and arrangement of objects are analyzed. The pedagogical importance of the still life in developing students' powers of observation, spatial imagination, and creative thinking is likewise substantiated. The article also outlines ways of forming fine art skills through practical exercises.
