Abstract: This article analyzes the semantic features of Internet texts that are formed in the modern digital communication environment - social networks, blogs, forums and chats. The nature of new types of semantic units (hashtags, emojis, abbreviations, memes/gifs, neologisms, visual symbols) emerging in Internet speech is compared with traditional language units. The study uses analytical-comparative and corpus-linguistic methods to study lexicosemantic processes - polysemy, occasional meaning, metaphorical and metonymic transfers, and contextual dynamics of meaning - on the basis of real Internet texts.
