Abstract: This article studies the chemical composition of the glazes and paints used in contemporary and traditional pottery, together with the ecological consequences of the heavy metals and toxic compounds they contain. The article analyzes the harmful gases released during the glazing process, the processes of chemical migration during the period of use of the finished product, and the problems of utilizing production waste. It also provides a scientific rationale for the introduction of "green technologies" in the field and for the advantages of using lead-free glazes and natural pigments.
