Antifungal use with and without fungal diagnoses among patients with septic shock in a retrospective multicenter cohort
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Take-home messageAntifungals are frequently administered in patients with septic shock who were not ultimately diagnosed with a fungal infection.Conversely, nearly half of patients with septic shock and a fungal infection did not receive antifungal therapy, raising the possibility that more tailored use via risk prediction strategies is needed.
